About Portuguese Water Dogs
The Portuguese Water Dog, also known as the Algarvian Water Dog, or Portuguese Fishing Dog, is a breed of dog that originated from the Algarve region of Portugal. From there the breed expanded to all around Portugal's coast, where they were taught to herd fish into fishermen's nets, retrieve lost tackle or broken nets, and act as couriers from ship to ship, or ship to shore.
WHY WE BREED PORTUGUESE WATER DOG PUPS (PWD)
PWDs are Hypo-Allergenic and do not shed. If you have a family member with allergies, this is the dog for you. Great with kids and all family members. Very smart and very active. PWD are working dogs and must be exercised, not for sedentary households.
Our Dame's health is our priority. Each puppy mom has been thoroughly screened for all possible genetic predisposition to health problems. The wellbeing of mom and pups is central to everything we do.

SWIMMING AND WATER WORK
Our dogs love the pond, Captain loves to swim for the frisbee. Nina and Piper just love to swim, cool off and hunt the perimeter.
Breezy practices here and is completing for her Working Water Dog Title.
The newest member of our pack Quiet Cove (Covey) Just started her Water Competition at 8 mos. and is spectacular! More about her later...
RUN. SWIM. EXPLORE. AGILITY. FETCH.
As your puppy grows they graduate to the big yard! They run free on 5+ acres exploring the old farm, your new puppy will be socialized to new experiences and challenges, sights and sounds each and every day.
AGILITY
Piper and River both compete in Agility. Agility work can be a wonderful bonding experience for your pup!
Your pup will be introduced to basic agility equipment right sized for puppy, and encouraged to play in and around all types of jumps, walking frames, and of course every puppies favorite- tunnels!
