AKC PWD Puppies
We breed and socialize Portuguese Water Dogs at Red River Dog Farm, a place where dogs can be dogs. Because dogs love to run, explore, swim and fetch; and because tired dogs are good dogs!
Red River Dog Farm is a Canine Enrichment Center for your puppies mind and body.
WHY WE BREED PORTUGUESE WATER DOG PUPS (PWD)
PWDs are Hypo-Allergenic and do not shed. If you have a family member with allergies, this is the dog for you. Great with kids and all family members. Very smart and very active. PWD are working dogs and must be exercised, not for sedentary households.
Our Dame's health is our priority. Each puppy mom has been thoroughly screened for all possible genetic predisposition to health problems. Only two litters for each mom; the wellbeing of mom and pups is central to everything we do.

As your puppy grows they graduate to the big yard! They run free on 5+ acres exploring the old farm, your new puppy will be socialized to new experiences and challenges, sights and sounds each and every day.

Here are some of the things we do with our dogs!
CAT AND FAST CAT
Piper and Breezy compete in and train for AKC competitions in CAT and Fast CAT.
Lure coursing is a sport for dogs that involves chasing a mechanically operated lure. Competition is typically limited to dogs of purebred sighthound breeds, although the AKC has a pass/fail trial for all breeds called the Coursing Ability Test (CAT).
SWIMMING AND WATER WORK
Our dogs love the pond, Captain loves to swim for the frisbee. Nina and Piper just love to swim, cool off and hunt the perimeter. Breezy practices here and has completed her Junior Water Dog Level, now working on her apprentice title.
AGILITY
Agility Work can be a wonderful bonding experience for your pup!
Your pup will be introduced to basic agility equipment right sized for puppy, and encouraged to play in and around all types of jumps, walking frames, and of course every puppies favorite- tunnels!
